To μάθημα προτείνει μια θεματική προσέγγιση στις δυτικοευρωπαϊκές κοινωνίες της πρώιμης νεωτερικότητας (16^ος-18^ος αι.)

 Θεματικές ενότητες:

 Ο δυτικός αστικός χώρος.

 Ο δυτικός αγροτικός κόσμος.

 Ο «γυναικείος χώρος» στη δυτική πρώιμη νεωτερικότητα.

 Γυναικείος λόγος στη δυτική πρώιμη νεωτερικότητα.

 Το κυνήγι μαγισσών στη Δύση, 1550-1750.

 Το τελετουργικό σύμπαν στη δυτική πρώιμη νεωτερικότητα.

 Νέες θεωρήσεις και πολιτικές αντιμετώπισης της φτώχειας, 16^ος-17^ος αι.

 Εβραίοι και Χριστιανοί, 16^ος-17^ος αι.

 Ο δρόμος προς το άσυλο: «Τρέλλα» και δυτικές κοινωνίες, 1500-1800.

Εξουσία και συμβολικές νομιμοποιήσεις της: Το παλαιό καθεστώς και η Γαλλική Δημοκρατία.

To course suggests a thematic approach of the western European societies in the early modernity (16th-18th c.). Topics:

The western urban universe.

The western rural world.

The “female universe” in the western early modernity.

Female language in the early western modernity.

The witch-hunt in the West, 1550-1750.

The ritual universe during the early western modernity.

New approaches and policies against poverty, 16th-17th cent.

Jews and Christians, 16th-17th cent.

The road to the asylum: "Madness" and western societies, 1500-1800.

Power and its symbolic legitimations: The old regime and the French Republic.

Μαθησιακοί στόχοι

Επιδιώκεται η εξοικείωση των φοιτητριών/ων με βασικές πτυχές της κοινωνικο-οικονομικής, πολιτισμικής και πολιτικής πραγματικότητας στη Δύση της πρώιμης νεωτερικότητας. Παρουσιάζονται ιδιαίτερα οι επιπτώσεις του καπιταλιστικού μετασχηματισμού στην καθημερινότητα των δυτικο-ευρωπαίων του 16^ου-18^ου αιώνα.

The course’s aim is to familiarize students with the key aspects of socio-economic, cultural and political realities in the West during the early modernity. In particular we present the consequences of capitalist transformation in the everyday life of western Europeans during the 16th-18th cent.
