Α. Aνάλυση της οπτικοποιημένης λουθηρανικής προπαγάνδας στο γερμανικό χώρο. Η καθολική αντεπίθεση.
Β. Η προπαγανδιστική αντιπαράθεση στους γαλλικούς θρησκευτικούς πολέμους (1562-1598). Η μετάβαση από τον θρησκευτικό στον πολιτικό λόγο στην καλβινιστική προπαγάνδα. Η προπαγανδιστική στρατηγική της Καθολικής Λίγκας (1585-1594).
Μαθησιακοί στόχοι
Επιδιώκεται η μεγαλύτερη εξοικείωση των φοιτητριών/ων με βασικές πτυχές του προπαγανδιστικού πολέμου μεταξύ Καθολικών και Προτεσταντών, από την εμφάνιση του Μαρτίνου Λούθηρου ώς τους γαλλικούς θρησκευτικούς πολέμους του 16ου αιώνα. Αναλύονται διεξοδικά οι ρητορικές στρατηγικές, οι τεχνικές στερεοτυπικής αυτό- και ετερο-απεικόνισης Προτεσταντών και Καθολικών, υπό το πρίσμα της ευρύτερης συζήτησης περί της διαμόρφωσης της δημόσιας σφαίρας στην πρώιμη νεωτερικότητα.
The course aims to familiarize students with the key aspects of the propaganda war between Catholics and Protestants, from the emergence of Martin Luther till the French religious wars of the 16th century. The rhetorical strategies, the techniques of stereotyped self- and hetero- imaging of Protestants and Catholics in the light of the wider debate on the formation of the public sphere in early modernity are thoroughly analyzed.
